Comment devrions-nous lire aujourd'hui "Le Deuxième Sexe" de Simone de Beauvoir, soixante ans après sa parution ? En remettant la pensée beauvoirienne en perspective avec le présent, le texte proposé par Carole Dely nous permet de mesurer le chemin parcouru depuis l'après seconde guerre mondiale et d’identifier certaines évolutions positives. Il nous apporte un nouvel éclairage sur le devenir-femme, le devenir-homme, les valeurs sociales, le corps féminin, la liberté.

Abstract

How should we read today "The Second Sex" by Simone de Beauvoir, a book published sixty years ago? By offering an evaluation of the gap between the end ot the Second World War and today, this essay allows us to have a clearer idea of a work in progress and to identify some positive developments. Along thoses lines, we are able to have a new point of view on the thinking of Simone de Beauvoir concerning the evolution of women and of men as such, the social values, the female body, the freedom.
