Abstract
This research allowed for a better understanding of the symptoms of school burnout, school stress and anxious school refusal in a comparative developmental perspective of 493 French adolescents attending school. An online questionnaire was developed and distributed to college and secondary school students. The results show a very high percentage of adolescents suffering. The young people most affected are secondary school students, and more particularly students in grades 13 and 11, with nearly three-quarters of them suffering from school burnout and/or exhibiting significant stress levels. These alarming results unfortunately corroborate those of numerous international studies.
