Résumé
Cet article rend compte des usages académiques des TIC ainsi que de leurs répercussions sur la qualité de vie des étudiant·e·s internationaux⋅les (EI) fréquentant des universités québécoises en période de confinement lié à la COVID-19. Les résultats de l’analyse de 40 entrevues semi-dirigées, dans cette recherche exploratoire qualitative, indiquent qu’il y a eu des répercussions significatives sur les finances des EI et les conditions d’enseignement et d’apprentissage. La démotivation, le manque de concentration, la fatigue ainsi que l’apparition ou l’amplification de problèmes physiques divers sont soulevés. Ces résultats illustrent l’importance de l’environnement technologique dans les études et la qualité de vie dans une situation de confinement.

Abstract
This article reports on the academic uses of ICT and their impact on the quality of life of international students (IS) attending Quebec universities during the period of confinement related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the analysis of 40 semi-structured interviews in this qualitative exploratory research indicate that there were significant impacts on IS’ finances, teaching, and learning conditions. Demotivation, lack of concentration, fatigue, and the onset or amplification of various physical problems were raised. These results illustrate the importance of the technological environment during study programs and the quality of life in the context of a lockdown.

Resumen
Este artículo informa sobre los usos académicos de las TIC y su repercusión en la calidad de vida de los estudiantes internacionales (EI) que integran las universidades de Quebec durante el periodo de reclusión debido a la COVID-19. Los resultados del análisis de 40 entrevistas semiestructuradas en esta investigación exploratoria cualitativa indican que hubo impactos significativos en las finanzas de los EI y en las condiciones de enseñanza y de aprendizaje. Se observó desmotivación, falta de concentración, fatiga y la aparición o amplificación de diversos problemas físicos. Estos resultados ilustran la importancia del entorno tecnológico para el estudio y la calidad de vida en una situación de confinamiento.
