Une démarche de type « evidence-based policy » implique que soient mis en place des dispositifs de compilation de la recherche existante, un concept et des indicateurs de qualité de la recherche, et une compréhension ou une interprétation de ce que la recherche « dit » ou ne « dit pas ». Dans le cas des sciences humaines et sociales, cela est loin d’être évident, non seulement à cause des médiations idéologiques, mais aussi à cause de la difficulté des consensus sur des indicateurs de qualité de la recherche et du caractère incertain et incomplet du savoir des sciences sociales. Le présent article analyse le vif débat, présentement en cours aux États-Unis, à propos de la certification des enseignants du primaire et du secondaire.
Summary
The process relating to “evidence-based” policy requires the development of a compilation of existing research, the concept and indicators of research quality, and a comprehension or interpretation of what research states and that which is not stated. In the case of social and human sciences, this situation is far from evident, not only because of ideological mediations, but also due to the difficulty of arriving at a consensus about indicators of research quality and the incomplete and uncertain nature of knowledge in the social sciences. This article presents the debate presently ongoing in the United States regarding the certification of primary and secondary teachers.

Un proceso de tipo «evidence-based policy» implica la implementación de dispositivos de compilación de la investigación existente, un concepto y unos indicadores de calidad de la investigación, así como una comprensión o una interpretación de lo que «dice» o «no dice» la investigación. En el caso de las ciencias humanas y sociales, no es tan obvio, no sólo por las mediaciones ideológicas, sino también por la dificultad de lograr consensos sobre los indicadores de calidad de la investigación y por el carácter incierto y parcial del saber de las ciencias sociales. El presente artículo analiza el animoso debate, que tiene lugar en la actualidad en los Estados Unidos acerca de la certificación de los docentes de la primaria y de la secundaria.
