Abstract
Values put on images in the XXth century have brought about an increasingly explicit representation of the body. And the development of Internet has not attenuated this correlation. On the contrary, the importance of images has taken a whole new meaning with the world wide web: to the endless accessibility of Internet corresponds a superabundance, an over-exposure of the erotized body. In the context, it becomes important to analyze the presence of the body on Internet and more precisely of the naked body, as it is photographed and especially uploaded on the Internet. To exemplify this relationship, we will analyze five examples of Net or hypermedia art, drawn from the virtual exhibition Le Nu, posted on Incident.net. These examples make it possible to illustrate some of the basic elements of digital representation: the pixellized nature of the photographs, their transmission by a network, the digital processing which they can undergo, the interactivity they bring into play and, on a larger scale, their extensive presence
