Résumé
Bien qu’ayant fait l’objet de nombreuses critiques, le management interculturel continue à être diffusé dans sa version canonique. Cette résistance au changement trouve son origine dans la construction même du domaine. Une analyse historique est donc utile. L’article met en évidence les racines de ce domaine : la psychologie ethnique (en prenant comme point de départ l’ouvrage de Ch. Letourneau 1901) la « psychologie des peuples » et l’anthropologie culturelle nord-américaine, pour en arriver à ce qui a été considéré comme une science interculturelle « normale » (en prenant pour base l’ouvrage de G. Hofstede 1980). L’article soulève les questions que pose cet héritage en relation avec un renouvellement espéré : de nombreuses différences oubliées (pouvoir, genre, race) et un centrage occidental.

Abstract
Although it has been the subject of numerous criticisms, intercultural management continues to be disseminated mainly in its canonical version. This resistance to change has its origins in the very construction of the field. A historical analysis is therefore useful.The article highlights the roots: “ethnic psychology” (taking as a starting point the work of Ch. Letourneau 1901), “psychology of peoples” and North American cultural anthropology, to arrive at what has been considered as “normal” intercultural science (taking as a basis the work of G. Hofstede 1980). The article raises the questions posed by this heritage in relation to an expected renewal: numerous forgotten differences (power, gender, race) and western centering.

Si bien ha sido objeto de numerosas críticas, la gestión intercultural sigue difundiéndose principalmente en su versión canónica. Esta resistencia al cambio tiene su origen en la propia construcción del campo. Por lo tanto, es útil un análisis histórico. El articulo destaca las raíces del campo: la “psicología étnica” (tomando como punto de partida la obra de Ch. Letourneau 1901) la “psicología de los pueblos” y la antropología cultural norteamericana, para llegar a lo que se ha considerado como ciencia intercultural “normal” (tomando como base la obra de G. Hofstede 1980). El artículo presenta las cuestiones que plantea este patrimonio en relación con una esperada renovación: numerosas diferencias olvidadas (poder, genero, raza) y occidentalización.
