Abstract
The ways in which individuals operate in favor of resilience remain controversial in crisis management; while some currents minimize their influence, others give them a central role. To delve into this debate, we study the configuration of risk situations and the ways to stop them. The results underline, from the analysis of nautical situations on French surface ships, the possible identification of situational configurations constituting the latent and active conditions of an accident. They also show the ability to stop the spread of a phenomenon, likely to lead to disaster with the intervention of a member of the ship’s hierarchy.
