Abstract
In response to calls for contributions on the entrepreneurial processes of International New Ventures (INV), this article examines the INV leader’s entrepreneurial approach during the evolution of the organization’s life cycle. To do so, we mobilize the bricolage, effectuation and causation concepts. We investigate the evolution of these three organizational behaviors over time to grasp the peculiar dynamics of the entrepreneurial process of a company that, from its creation, integrated globalization constraints and opportunities. To this end, the longitudinal case study of a French INV analyzes the behaviors that underlie the three approaches and their mutation during the six stages of its entrepreneurial process : ideation, launching preparation, start-up, international growth, maturity and decline. The study provides an understanding of situations that require more of a causal, bricolage or effectuation approach.
