Abstract
In the career and the literary works of Johann Joachim Winckelmann, it is possible to highlight the existence of a particular masculinity, integrated to the European culture of the eighteenth century. This masculinity positively distinguished the man it was constructing. The inclusion of homoeroticism in this construction is due to a stylisation of Winckelmann’s eroticism by his reconstruction of ancient Greek practices. This neohellenic ideal influenced him to elaborate an affective and erotic masculinity. Working through a problematisation of virility in sexual practices between men, the resulting pederastic model marked Winckelmann’s erotic and affective practices and representations.
