Résumé

À la fin du XXe siècle, le roman québécois est caractérisé par une écriture intimiste qui met de l’avant la quête personnelle des protagonistes. Ceux-ci explorent le plus souvent les espaces inconnus à l’intérieur d’eux-mêmes. En fuyant la vie commune pour se retirer dans un monde vaste ou parfois clos, les personnages cherchent à reformuler leur propre identité et leur propre « je ». Dans cet article, je me propose d’analyser l’écriture de trois auteurs contemporains en portant une attention particulière sur la façon dont elle donne forme à ces différents voyages intérieurs. Aussi, en étudiant la représentation des espaces privés et publics, j’analyserai les rapports précaires qui s’établissent entre les personnages et le monde qui les entoure.

Abstract

At the end of the 20^th Century, the Quebec novel finds itself being characterized by a certain intimist writing which favours the personal quest carried out by prougonists who explore unknown spaces within themselves. By escaping communal life to retreat into a vast or sometimes closed off world, the characters seek to rebuild their own identity and their own self or "I". In this article, I propose to analyse the writing of three contemporary authors by focusing on the way in which their inner journey takes form. Also, by studying the represenuaion of private and public spaces, I will be analysing the precarious relationship between the characters and the world surrounding them.
