Cet article analyse les énoncés des parties narrativo-descriptives qui font du scénario un texte sui generis à vocation filmique. Après avoir brièvement examiné le métalangage technique et la forme, l'auteure souligne un aspect généralement ignoré des manuels : l'organisation et la focalisation suivant la réception d'un spectateur fictif. On peut distinguer divers styles dans l'histoire du scénario: le scénario technique domine à l'époque du tournage en studio, la « forme filmique » quand le réalisateur devient tou-tpuissant ; enfin, le scénario actuel, soulignant les réactions d'un spectateur imaginaire, est destiné à évoquer pour les producteurs l'effet du film sur le public.
Abstract
This article presents a stylistic and discursive analysis of unique, functionnal features of the screenplay. After briefly exmining the use of technical terminology, the discussion underlines an aspect which is generally underplayed in screeplaywriting manuals: the organization and focalization in terms of an implicit reader-spectator. Various periods may be distinguished in the history of screenplaywriting. The technical script was used for studio production. The importance of blending film form and content grew with the director's role. And finally, the present emphasis on a imaginary spectator originates in the need to convincingly describe audience response for the producer.
