Les relations internationales utilisent comme postulat récurrent celui de l’État souverain, proposé par la pensée politique en général. Cette dernière raconte de manière quasiment mystique la naissance de cet objet de croyance qui inspire attachement et fidélité. Notre investigation s’attachera à traiter la question de l’état de nature du point de vue philosophique et, à ce titre, à présenter l’apport et l’intérêt que constitue la pensée de Panayis Papaligouras. Ce dernier soutenait en 1941 une thèse de doctorat dans laquelle il développe une approche méthodologique, d’inspiration kantienne, qui constitue une critique de socialité : la théorie du formalisme social. Cette théorie nous permettra de déterminer la conception de l’état de nature que Panayis Papaligouras développe, implicitement, dans son oeuvre. C’est à partir de cette démarche que son entreprise théorique prend corps et que sont définis les concepts de société internationale homogène et hétérogène.
Abstract
International relations use the « Sovereign State » suggested by the political thought in general, as a recurring postulate. The latter relates in an almost mystical way the birth of this object of belief which inspires attachment and fidelity. Our investigation will attempt to treat the question of the state of nature from the philosophical point of view and, in that way, to present the outcome of Panayis Papaligouras’thought. In his PhD thesis in 1941, he develops a methodological approach, inspired by the Kantian philosophy, which constitutes a critical approach of sociality : the theory of social formalism. This theory will enable us to determine the conception of the state of nature implicitly developed by Panayis Papaligouras in his work. The definitions of the concepts of homogeneity and heterogeneity in international societies start from a particular conception of the state of nature, which stems from his theoritical approach.
