Résumé

Cet article vise à rendre compte des contributions théoriques des chercheurs poststructuralistes au problème du changement social et historique en relations internationales. L’auteur soutient que malgré leurs contributions à la formation d’une réflexion métathéorique dans le champ à propos des fonctions réifiantes et naturalisantes de l’épistémologie positiviste en RI, ainsi qu’à la mise en lumière du rôle du langage et du discours dans la formation des relations de pouvoir en évolution, le projet poststructuraliste n’a pas réussi à échapper aux pièges et lacunes de la réification, du fonctionnalisme et du structuralisme.

Abstract

This article seeks to account for the theoretical contributions of poststructuralism to the issues of social and historical change in international relations. The author argues that despite poststructuralism’s contributions both to the ongoing metatheoretical debates in the field about the reifying and naturalizing tendencies of positivism in the study of International Relations and to the understanding of language and discourses in the formation of evolving relations of power, poststructuralism did not managed to escape the pitfalls and lacunas of reification, functionalism and structuralism.

Resumen

Este artículo se orienta a dar cuenta de las contribuciones teóricas de los investigadores postestructuralistas respecto del cambio social e histórico en las Relaciones Internacionales. El autor sostiene que a pesar de los aportes de las mencionadas teorías respecto a la formación de una reflexión meta-teórica dentro del campo relacionado con las funciones reificantes y naturalizantes de la epistemología positivista en Relaciones Internacionales, así como también la puesta en evidencia del rol del lenguaje y del discurso en la formación y en la evolución de las relaciones de poder, el proyecto postestructuralista no ha logrado escapar de las trampas y las lagunas de la reificación, del funcionalismo y del estructuralismo.
