Le Japon à l'âge de l'internationalisation
Le Japon des années 1980 est à l'heure de " l'internationalisation ". Cet article examine comment certains auteurs japonais définissent ce terme, dans les secteurs économique et culturel. Dans le premier, l'internationalisation signifie, selon eux, l'ouverture du marché japonais, en particulier celui des produits agricoles, les échanges de biens, de capitaux et d'informations au niveau international et l'implantation d'industries japonaises hors du Japon. Au niveau culturel, les auteurs japonais, qui ont pris conscience de la puissance économique de leur pays, tentent de régler le problème d'identité des Japonais et celui du cul-de-sac de la civilisation occidentale en proposant la culture japonaise comme fondement d'une nouvelle civilisation mondiale. L'internationalisation apparaît dans ce contexte comme un prolongement du nationalisme nippon.
Abstract
Japon in thé Age of Internationalization
" Internationalization " is the term used by many Japanese to describe the process in which their country is engaged since 1980. In this article, the author examines how Japanese writers conceive of this process at the economie and cultural level. Economically, internationalization refers, first, to the opening of the Japanese market, especially for agricultural imports, second, to the international exchange of goods, capital and information, and, thirdly, to the expansion of Japanese firms outside of Japan. At the cultural level, Japanese authors, recognizing their country's economie strength, are attempting to solve the problem of Japan's identity and the problem of the decline of Western civilization through the diffusion of Japanese culture as a basis for a new world civilization. In this context, internationalization seems to be an extension of Japan's nationalism.
