There is a pervasive false belief that young children are colour-blind and “racially innocent” and exist in “race neutral” spaces. A long-held belief in a universal model of child development underestimates children’s ability to engage with complex topics, and racialized students’ lived experiences are dismissed. Failing to engage in these discussions, educators could unknowingly neglect the needs of their students and fail to help children develop their cultural competencies. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the ways in which critical race theory can offer a lens through which to challenge the dominant ideology and sustained inequity in early childhood education and educational systems.

Pareto biographical and intellectual experience offers a privileged point of view on First World War. His life work, Treatise on General Sociology, was published in 1916 by Barbera Publisher in Florence. It is through the conceptual tools contained in this work that he deciphers the ongoing conflict. His interpretative method is based on the distinction between residues and derivations. The firsts are the real motifs that determinate actions, the seconds are false explanations men create to justify their behaviour. War is a conflict between residues and more specifically between two residues: the persistence of aggregates – a conservative residue, politically represented by Germans and Central Powers – and the instinct for combinations – typical of innovators, represented by the Allies. Post war disorder cannot last and be tolerated by any stable social system. Pareto in a first moment is sceptical toward Fascism but he was fascinated by Mussolini's personality later, when he recognises him as the only man capable to re-establish social order in a country out of control. Pareto's support to Fascism is ultimately a support to a realistic principle able to use Machiavelli methods to beat all fractions that without a political synthesis can threat the social life of a country.

This study focuses on preservice teacher's mentoring in a French University Graduate Schools of Teacher Education. It focuses on physical education and learning activities of middle school pupils. Photographs and videos are mobilised during post-lesson mentoring conference to help the preservice teacher (PT) to reduce the risk of injury. The data from a case study are made up of extracts from mentoring interview and self-confrontation interview analysed from a cultural-historical activity theory perspective (C.H.A.T). Results highlights the potential relevance of using 1) traces of learning activity during mentoring interactions to optimise the pedagogical design of PT’s 2) and to prevent the risks of pupils’ physical integrity. The theoretical model contributes to a global understanding of the problems arising in the collective teaching-learning activity and about modalities contributing to the joint tutoring activity independently of the disciplinary field.

Metabolomics is one of the most eminent and newly emerging omic sciences. It is a powerful tool to study metabolic changes that occur in an organism. Plants produce a wide range of metabolites and the study of these metabolites can answer a number of questions that arise in the minds of researchers. Change in the metabolites is the most important feature in a genetically modified plant or plant interactions with pests, pathogens and the environment. Plant pathogen interactions are amongst the most biochemically complex mechanisms and pose a great challenge in front of plant pathologists; metabolomics not only play a great role in deciphering these complex interactions but also the study of certain defence-related metabolic changes can be utilized in a number of ways to protect the plant from the harmful pathogens. The science of metabolomics utilizes a number of techniques to study the wide variety of metabolites. This review will give a brief about the various techniques used in metabolomics and how some of these techniques have been successfully utilized in the field of plant pathology.

The model of the creative ecosystem (Cohendet, Grandadam et Simon, 2011) shows that creative ideas can circulation between the underground and the upperground through the middleground. This is made possible through the activation of specific mechanisms, places, spaces, events and projects. However, the issue of the processes involved in their activation has been, so far, understudied. This article highlights the role of entrepreneurial activities in this activation. Our argument relies on the case of krautrock, a musical genre that has played a major role for the evolution of modern popular music from the end of the 1970's on. We argue that entrepreneurial activities, which consist in the settling of labels, as well as of rehearsal, recording and concert places, or in organizing festivals, embed an intermediation feature facilitating the circulation and diffusion of creative ideas. Furthermore, we show that this intermediation function takes different forms depending on the mechanism at stake and with the evolution of the ecosystem.
