Résumé
À l’intérieur, comme à l’extérieur, dans la boîte noire ou le in situ, le végétal incite l’artiste à créer un parlement des plantes, qui prend le pari de faire exister au sein d’une dramaturgie d’autres entités que les seuls comédiens humains. La plante se revendique comme protagoniste, s’émancipant de son état d’accessoire de décoration. Les mondes végétaux accèdent ainsi à une dimension énonciative et sémiotique, permettant de rééquilibrer les rapports entre les humains parlant et agissant et la nature, qui n’est plus réduite à sa fonction décorative. Ces mondes végétaux incitent les humains à transformer leurs modes d’énonciation, de compréhension du monde et les poussent à transformer leurs environnements de vie et de création, considérant le végétal en mesure de « sculpter socialement » (au sens où l’entend Joseph Beuys) les scènes théâtrales contemporaines.
Abstract
Inside, as outside, in the black box or the in situ, plant life motivates the artist to create a parliament of plants, which take on the challenge of establishing the existence, within a play, of beings other than human actors. The plant proclaims itself a protagonist, liberated from its status as a decorative accessory. Plant worlds thus attain an enunciative and semiotic dimension, allowing them to restore a balance to the relationships between speaking and acting humans and nature, which is no longer reduced to its decorative function. These plant worlds prompt humans to transform their modes of enunciation, of understanding the world, and persuade them to transform their living environments, considering that plants are capable of “socially sculpting” (according to Joseph Beuys) contemporary stages.
