Résumé

Afin d'illustrer la cohérence, au sein de la démarche utopique, entre représentation de l'enfance et représentation de l'avenir, on présente ici l'analyse de denx récits d'anticipation. L'un relève de l'utopie et donne du futur et de l'enfance qui en est porteuse une image prodigieuse; l'autre se rattache à l'anti-utopie et développe de l'avenir et du peuple enfant qu'on y découvre une vision extrêmement négative. Ainsi voit-on à l'œuvre certains traits du processus de création culturelle, chez deux écrivains dont l'imaginaire social joue, quoique en directions opposées, son rôle de critique du présent et d'élucidation de certains possibles.

Summary

To illustrate the coherence between the reprsentations of childhood and of the future within a Utopian framework, two science fiction stories are analyzed here. One of these falls under the category of the Utopian and provides a very positive image both of the future and of childhood, which bears the image of the future. The other is anti-Utopian and develops an extremely negative image both of the future and of the child-people which inhabit it. In this way, we see certain characteristics of the process of cultural creation, although they take different directions, at work in two authors whose social imagination plays the role of critic of the present and of determining certain possible future developments.

Con el fin de ilustrar la coherencia en e! seno del comportamiento utópico entre representación de la infancia y representación del porvenir, se presenta aquí el análisis de dos relatos de anticipación. El primero proviene de la utopía y da una imagen prodigiosa del futuro y de la infancia, de la que es portador; el otro relato esta ligado a la anti-utopía y desarrolla una visión extremadamente negativa tanto del porvenir como del pueblo-niño que se descubre en él. De esta manera vemos en práctica ciertos trazos del proceso de creación cultural, en dos escritores en los cuales el imaginario social juega aunque en direcciones opuestas su rol de crítico del presente y de elucidación de ciertos posibles.
