Abstract
This paper compares the French-speaking and English-speaking enterprises of New Brunswick involved in 12 types of international expansion : export (under five types), joint venture, consulting, wholly owned subsidiaries, subcontract, barter or countertrade, license and turnkey projects. Based on tests of proportions, the results indicate significant differences between the two groups even when the effect of the size has been removed. The relations between ethnic origin and some strategies are very strong and are always unidirectional : always associated positively with a given group and associated negatively with the other. This is true both at the global level of the sample and at the level of the small companies and medium companies.
