Résumé
Cette étude vise à explorer si la détresse psychologique et le sentiment d’appartenance à la communauté sont liés au sentiment de compétence parentale dans l’accompagnement des devoirs. Un devis corrélationnel, basé sur les données de l’Enquête de santé populationnelle estrienne de 2018, a mené à des résultats indiquant que le sentiment de compétence parentale est négativement associé à la détresse psychologique alors qu’il l’est positivement au sentiment d’appartenance à la communauté. Ces constats soulignent la pertinence d’encourager les interactions sociales au sein des communautés, notamment dans les populations faisant face à divers facteurs de stress.

Abstract
This study aims to explore whether psychological distress and a sense of community are associated to parenting sense of competence in accompanying their children while doing homework. Based on data from the 2018 Eastern Townships Population Health Survey, correlational analyses led to results indicating that parenting sense of competency is negatively associated with psychological distress while positively associated with sense of community belonging. These findings underline the relevance of encouraging social interactions within communities, particularly in populations facing various stressors.

Resumen
Este estudio se plantea explorar si la angustia psicológica y el sentimiento de pertenencia a la comunidad están relacionados con el sentimiento de competencia parental durante el acompañamiento en los deberes. Nuestro análisis correlacional, basado en los datos del Sondeo de salud de la población de Estría de 2018, lleva a resultados que indican que el sentimiento de competencia parental está negativamente asociado con la angustia psicológica, mientras que está positivamente asociado con el sentimiento de pertenencia a la comunidad. Estas observaciones subrayan la importancia de favorecer las interacciones sociales dentro de las comunidades, en particular en las poblaciones confrontadas a diversos factores de stress.
