Abstract
This research examines the relationship between the epistemic beliefs, goals of self-achievement and commitment of students using computer media communications. A French version of Schommer’s questionnaire of epistemic beliefs and of Hayamizu and Weiner’s goals inventory were used. The students’ commitment was analyzed in reference to Henri’s grid who returns at the same time to the analysis of individual participation andcommunal action, espacially under the angle of interactive, cognitive and meta-cognitive dimensions. The results show that weakly sophisticated epistemic beliefs are associated to a weak participation as well as to weakly constructive messages.
