Résumé
Peter Archambault, un artiste franco-américain, s’est impliqué dans le Centre franco-américain de l’Université du Maine pendant les années soixante-dix et quatre-vingt. Fondé en 1972, le Centre avait pour objectif de représenter les communautés franco-américaines, notamment en publiant un mensuel, Le F.A.R.O.G. Forum (Franco-American Resource Opportunity Group). Archambault a travaillé comme dessinateur au F.A.R.O.G. Forum pendant une dizaine d’années, ses dessins constituent un corpus varié et complexe. On y trouve notamment « Beau-frog », une grenouille qui se fait porte-parole de la communauté franco-américaine. Cet article s’appuie sur les dessins de Peter Archambault pour offrir un instantané de la communauté franco-américaine à l’époque peu étudiée des années 1980.

Abstract
Peter Archambault, a Franco-American artist, was involved with the Franco-American Center at the University of Maine during the seventies and eighties. Founded in 1972, the Center’s goal was to represent Franco-American communities, notably by publishing the monthly magazine Le F.A.R.O.G. Forum (Franco-American Resource Opportunity Group). Archambault worked as a cartoonist at Le F.A.R.O.G. Forum for some ten years, contributing a varied and complex body of drawings. Among them is “Beau-frog,” a frog that acts as a spokesperson for the Franco-American community. This article draws on Peter Archambault’s drawings to offer a snapshot of the Franco-American community in the little-studied 1980s.
