Résumé

Ce texte présente le témoignage d’une infirmière en santé communautaire qui oeuvre également en tant que thérapeute holiste. D’abord initiée à la pratique professionnelle traditionnelle en milieu hospitalier puis en CLSC, elle a décidé de poursuivre sa formation à travers une démarche alternative holiste. Un stage prolongé en Californie (au Healing Center de San Francisco) lui a donné l’occasion de participer à plusieurs cours (Shiatsu, réflexologie...); une fois revenue au Québec, elle a peu à peu intégré les éléments de cette formation à sa pratique professionnelle officielle, puis à une pratique hors-réseau. Les différents moments de sa réflexion sur le sens de cette plongée dans l’univers alternatif et sur son rapport avec le système de santé sont esquissés.

Abstract

This text presents the testimony of a community health nurse who also works as a holistic therapeutist. Having first learned the traditional professional practice in a hospital milieu and then a CLSC, she decided to pursue her training through an alternative, holistic approach. A prolonged work training program in California (at the San Francisco Healing Center) gave her an opportunity to participate in several courses (Shiatsu, reflexology, etc.); when she returned to Quebec, she gradually integrated aspects of this training into her official professional practice and then into an outside practice. The various stages in her reflection on the meaning of her plunge into the alternative realm and on her relationship to the healthcare system are outlined.

Resumen

Este texto presenta el testimonio de una enfermera de los servicios de salud comunitaria que ejerce igualmente como terapeuta holista. Iniciada en un principio a la práctica profesional tradicional en el medio de los hospitales y CLSC, decide proseguir su formación realizando un recorrido alternativo holista. Unas prácticas prolongadas en California (en el Healing Center de San Francisco) le presentaron la ocasión de participar en varios cursos (shiatsu, reflexología, etc.); de vuelta a Quebec, integró poco a poco los elementos de esa formación a su práctica profesional oficial y luego a una práctica fuera de la red institucional. Se exponen los diferentes momentos de su reflexión sobre el sentido de esta inmersión en el universo alternativo y sobre su relación con el sistema de salud.
