Abstract
This article puts into perspective recent studies that take place around the world on the positive effects of Snoezelen environments to dependent persons in institutions. Subjects who receive these therapies envelopes are children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities associated disorders, including those with autism or emotional instability. This care also for the elderly with dementia, people with psycho-behavioral and psychiatric disorders. The results from one study to another are varied, but for most of them, it is noted that emotional regulation is observed. And it seems that the relationship between sensory stimuli and reducing behavioral problems is established. In all cases, Snoezelen promotes relaxation, mental calming, while providing individuals a state of well-being.
