Abstract
This article presents an adaptation and an evaluation of the implementation of the DBT STEPS-A intervention program in a school context for adolescents who have difficulties with emotion regulation. Although the original version of this program has been implemented and evaluated on several occasions, it was never adapted, implemented or evaluated in Quebec. One of the objectives of this study is to adapt the intervention based on the best criteria used by various authors in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and thus respond to a lack of information and uniformity in the authors’ decision-making process when adapting a DBT program. A review of the scientific literature is carried out, then an initial adaptation format from this literature review is set up by the research team and submitted to experts in the field in order to collect their evaluation. The second objective is to implement this intervention program in a Quebec high school and evaluate the appreciation of the participants using a semi-structured interview. The results show the participants’ appreciation of most of the themes covered during this interview.
