Résumé

Cet article propose un regard renouvelé sur la professionnalisation.  En partant du principe que la part sociale de la professionnalisation s’affaiblit dans un contexte d’accélération, ce travail montre que le moment clé de la construction de sa professionnalité se replie davantage dans l’intime des sujets agissant alors qu'auparavant, il se jouait dans l’appartenance aux collectifs institués. Une modélisation théorique étayée par des concepts doubles de « configuration/négociation des savoirs » et « dispositions/valorisation » est mise à l'épreuve de trois terrains d'enquête : l’alternance dans le secteur de la santé, la démarche de VAE, un Master professionnel. Les résultats pointent un usage plus social de l’intime, ce qui conduit à expliciter la part professionnelle de l’individuation.

Abstract

This article proposes a renewed view of professionalization. It considers that the social part of professionalization is declining in the context of accelerated social change. It shows how the construction of one’s professionality is more likely to occur at an intimate individual level, whereas previously it was formed through a sense of belonging to instituted collectives. A theoretical model is supported by the dual concepts of “configuration / negotiation of knowledge” and “disposition / valorization”. It is applied to three areas of investigation: work-study in the health sector, the Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) process, and a professional master’s degree. The findings indicate more social use of intimacy, which in turn elucidates the professional part of individuation.
