Abstract
This article addresses the following question: how entrepreneur mobilize different scripts and social structures in order to imagine an entrepreneurial opportunity? The literature review shows that the opposition between discovery and creation approaches is at the heart of the debate on the nexus of individual and entrepreneurial opportunity. Some authors have proposed Structuration Theory as a meta-theory to overcome this opposition. However, none of these authors rely on empirical evidence to support these arguments. Based on developments of Structuration Theory and the study of three life stories, the article proposes a model that highlights the different scripts, external and internal structures mobilized during the process of imagining an opportunity.
