Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of marital and parental status on the growth intentions of nascent entrepreneurs. Questioning the impact of family status on men and women entrepreneurs’ growth intentions, we pay particular attention to individuals’ parental and marital status. We mobilize theory on social roles (Eagly, 1987) and marital support (Kanter, 1977, Nikina et al, 2015), to contribute to the literature on gender and intention growth. We distinguish women according to their parental and marital status, thus surpassing the traditional dichotomous classification of men and women entrepreneurs (de Bruin, Brush and Welter, 2007).
