Abstract
In this retrospective look at the work done by IMAQ at the McGill University Library, the diverse printed works that were processed are presented in the context of progressively revealed hidden collections. Considering these works from the perspective of an archaeological approach to collection history underscores the diachronic strata of past collections within the current collection. Individual volumes are considered reflective of past states of knowledge. This text is a call to approach historic imprints from the perspective of the collections that they are, and have been, a part of, so as to reveal their continually evolving significance.
