Franz Kafka et l’anarchisme

Résumé

Kafka s’intéressait à l’anarchisme — il a fréquenté pendant les années 1910-1912 des cercles anarchistes à Prague — mais il n’était pas un « écrivain anarchiste ». Son oeuvre ne saurait être réduite à une doctrine politique, quelle qu’elle soit, mais on peut repérer les liens souterrains entre son esprit anti-autoritaire, sa sensibilité libertaire, ses sympathies pour l’anarchisme d’une part, et ses principaux écrits de l’autre. Ces passages nous ouvrent un accès privilégié à ce qu’on pourrait appeler le paysage interne de l’oeuvre de Kafka.

Abstract

Although Kafka took an interest in anarchism, associating with anarchist organisations in Prague from 1910 to 1912, he was not himself an “anarchist author”. Indeed, his writings should not be narrowly misconstrued as a given political doctrine. However, one can discern the underlying connections between, on the one hand, his dislike of authority, his libertarian bend and his sympathies for anarchism, and his writings on the other. These excerpts shine a privileged light on what one could describe as the “internal scenery” of Kafka’s oeuvre.
