Éthique et sociocritique ?

Résumé

Cet article aborde la question de l'approche éthique de la littérature dans le cadre d'une remise en question de l'hégémonie exercée sur les champs philosophique et littéraire par la tradition platonico-aristotélicienne, en évoquant l'évolution du système des Appareils Idéologiques d'État qui gouverne le champ du littéraire et en distinguant les trois pratiques sociales qui constituent l'activité institutionnelle (écrire, lire, critiquer). Dans une deuxième partie, il vise à montrer comment cette approche implique que soient posés le problème du sujet ainsi que celui des rapports du signifié au sens que tisse le texte. Ceci amène Edmond Cros à rappeler les présupposés sur la base desquels il construit son discours critique au centre duquel il situe le concept de morphogénèse, défini par le fonctionnement spécifique d'un champ notionnel où s'affrontent des valeurs sociales et morales redistribuées par des discours contradictoires.

Abstract

This article deals with the ethical approach of the literature in the context of a questioning of the platonic-aristotelian tradition's hegemony over the philosophical and literary fields, calling to mind the evolution of the Ideological State Apparatus' system which rules the literary field and distinguishing between the three social practices of this institutional activity (writing, reading and criticising). In the second part, it points out how this approach implies questioning the subject problem and the relations the text establishes between meaning and signified. This leads Edmond Cros back to the basic presuppositions on which he builds his theory, focussed on the morphogenesis and characterized by the specific functioning of a notional field where social and moral values are re-distributed by conflicting discourses.
