Note biographique
François CHALIFOUR pratique la peinture, le dessin et l’installation multidisciplinaire. Il poursuit par ailleurs une carrière d’enseignement au Cégep de l’Outaouais et à l’Université du Québec en Outaouais. Docteur en sémiologie, il a, entre autres, contribué aux revues culturelles Espace sculpture, Liaison et à la revue internationale de sémiotique Visio. Il est membre et président du conseil d’administration du centre d’artistes AXENÉO7 à Gatineau.

Biographical note
François CHALIFOUR has an art practice of painting, drawing and creating multidisciplinary installations, and he also pursues a career teaching at Cégep de l’Outaouais and Université du Québec en Outaouais. Holding a doctorate in semiology, he is the coauthor of three monographs, and has contributed to the cultural magazines Espace sculpture, Liaison and the international semiotics journal Visio. He is a member and President of the Board of AXENÉO7, an artist-run centre in Gatineau.
