Documentation et bibliothèques is the Association pour l’avancement des sciences et des techniques de la documentation's (ASTED) quarterly journal. Its task is to contribute to the dissemination and advancement of knowledge in the connaissances in the field of library and information science.

Documentation et bibliothèques publishes original texts in French regarding all aspects of library and information science as well as other topics of related interest for the readers. The Journal offers articles about the new realities and tendancies in the library and information community across the province of Quebec as well as the Francophonie. The Journal follows the development of issues and problems related to library and information science both from a theoretical and a practical standpoint.

Documentation et bibliothèques publishes in-dept articles, research synthesis, short articles, editorials and book reviews. With all articles are provided summaries in French, English and Spanish.

Every year, the Journal publishes a special thematic issue directed by guest editors and that can be considered as a monography.

A subscription is required to have access to issues disseminated in the last 12 months of publication for this journal.

Institutional digital subscription: Institutions (library, documentation centre, school, etc.) have the possibility to subscribe to Érudit journals by title or by title package. For more information, we invite institutions to fill out our subscription form.
