Biographical note
Michel Poivert, who has been very involved in French photographic research, presided at the renaissance of the Société française de photographie and is a member of the editorial committee of the magazine Études photographiques. He has written several works and organized a number of exhibitions on photography. His most recent book, La photographie contemporaine, was published by Flammarion in 2010; his most recent exhibition, Nadar, la norme et le caprice, was organized for Jeu de Paume and shown in Tours in 2010. Poivert is a professor in the history of contemporary art and history of photography at the Université Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Note biographique
Très engagé dans le milieu de la recherche photographique française, Michel Poivert a notamment présidé à la renaissance de la Société française de photographie et est membre du comité de rédaction de la revue Études photographiques. Il a produit plusieurs ouvrages et plusieurs expositions sur la photographie : son plus récent livre, La photographie contemporaine, est paru chez Flammarion en 2010; sa plus récente exposition, Nadar, la norme et le caprice, a été réalisée pour le Jeu de paume et exposée à Tours en 2010. Michel Poivert est professeur en histoire de l’art contemporain/histoire de la photographie à l’université Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne.
