Résumé
La pandémie de Covid-19 a bouleversé la vie de nombreux enfants et adolescent∙e∙s ainsi que celle de leurs familles. En plus de devoir faire face à la possibilité de contracter la maladie, beaucoup ont appréhendé la perte d’un proche des suites de la maladie. Leur quotidien a été ébranlé par les mesures sociosanitaires instaurées pour contrer la pandémie, dont la fermeture des écoles, des garderies et des centres de loisirs. Cette période de bouleversements fut aussi porteuse d’opportunités et de remises en question pour les jeunes. Il leur fut nécessaire d’effectuer des apprentissages afin de s’adapter à leur nouvelle réalité. L’objectif de cette enquête était d’explorer comment les apprentissages réalisés par les jeunes Québécois∙e∙s en temps de pandémie ont contribuer à renforcer leur résilience. En mobilisant l’approche basée sur l’enfant, l’étude Réactions a permis de rencontrer 197 enfants et adolescent∙e∙s dans le cadre d’entrevues semi-dirigées. Privilégiant un devis qualitatif longitudinal, les jeunes ont été rencontrés à trois reprises, lors de moments clés de la pandémie. Trois thèmes discutés par les jeunes permettent d’identifier les apprentissages importants réalisés pendant la pandémie, soit : 1) les mécanismes de propagation du virus et les mesures préventives, 2) les stratégies pour s’occuper et favoriser son développement personnel pendant le confinement (ou malgré des mesures sanitaires restrictives) et 3) une prise de conscience de l’importance des relations familiales et sociales de qualité pour son bien-être. Les apprentissages rapportés par les participant∙e∙s rencontré∙e∙s dans le cadre de l’étude Réactions témoignent de la résilience qu’ont su démontrer les jeunes en contexte de pandémie.

Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of many children and adolescents as well as the lives of their families. In addition to having to face the possibility of contracting the disease, many feared the loss of a loved one to the disease. Their daily lives have been shaken by the social and health measures introduced to counter the pandemic, including the closure of schools, daycares, and leisure centers. This period of upheaval also brought opportunities and challenges for young people. They had to adapt to their new reality. The objective of this study was to explore how the learning outcomes achieved by young Quebecers during the pandemic has contributed to strengthening their resilience. By mobilizing the child-based approach, the Réactions research project made it possible to meet 197 children and adolescents in the context of semi-structured interviews. Favoring a longitudinal qualitative design, young people were met three times, during key moments of the pandemic. Three themes discussed by young people make it possible to identify the important learnings outcomes achieved during the pandemic, namely: 1) the modes of transmission of the virus and preventive measures, 2) strategies for keeping busy and promoting personal development during confinement (or despite restrictive health measures) and 3) an awareness of the importance of quality family and social relationships for one’s well-being. The learning outcomes reported by the participants met as part of the Réactions study demonstrates the resilience that young people have been able to develop in the context of a pandemic.
