Abstract
The School of Social Work Community Clinic opened its doors in June, 2014 in a donated space in a local parish hall. With very few resources initially the clinic now has its own rented space, serves a caseload of over 200 marginalized community members and has provided field placement experiences for over 75 BSW/MSW, pharmacy, psychology, nutrition, nursing, and occupational therapy students. In this article, we will highlight the steps we took to create and develop the Clinic with a social justice/anti-oppressive foundation, and the practice-teaching approaches we use with our students. We will also describe how we are integrating an interprofessional and community-university partnership culture in our day-to-day work with marginalized populations. This process will be described and discussed in relation to both interprofessional health education and the provision of relevant and meaningful services to clients. The community development techniques we used to develop our clinic and how we have been able to grow and expand will be highlighted. The partners we have established in government, the university, and the community that have contributed to a more sustainable future are also described.

Résumé
La clinique communautaire de l’École de service social a ouvert ses portes en juin 2014 dans un espace gracieusement offert dans une salle paroissiale locale. Dotée de très peu de ressources au départ, la clinique dispose maintenant de ses propres locaux loués, est au service de plus de 200 membres marginalisés de la communauté et a offert des stages pratiques à plus de 75 étudiants au premier et deuxième cycles en travail social, pharmacie, psychologie, nutrition, sciences infirmières et en ergothérapie. Dans le présent article, nous soulignerons les mesures que nous avons prises pour créer et mettre sur pied la clinique en nous fondant sur la justice sociale et la lutte contre l’oppression, ainsi que les méthodes d’enseignement pratique que nous utilisons avec nos étudiants. Nous décrirons également comment nous intégrons une culture de partenariat entre les professions, les universités et les communautés dans notre travail quotidien avec les populations marginalisées. Ce processus sera décrit et discuté dans le contexte de la formation interprofessionnelle en santé et de la prestation de services pertinents et significatifs aux clients. Les techniques de perfectionnement communautaire que nous avons utilisées pour mettre sur pied notre clinique et la façon dont nous avons pu grandir et prendre de l’expansion seront soulignées. Les partenariats que nous avons établis avec les gouvernements, les universités et les collectivités, et qui ont contribué à un avenir plus durable sont également décrits.
