Dans les sociétés occidentales, l’histoire de la nation comme communauté politique a été liée à la formation et à la reproduction de l’État moderne. Le présent article tente de poser le rapport entre l’évolution des formes de l’État moderne et la représentation de la nation, avant de se pencher sur le lien entre les transformations politiques actuelles et la question nationale.

Summary

In the Western societies, the history of the nation as a political community has been related to the development and the reproduction of the modern State. This paper attempts to establish the relationship between the evolution of the forms of the modern State and the representation of the nation; it looks then at the link between current political changes and the national question.
