Le spectateur qui en savait trop

Résumé

À partir d’un questionnement relatif aux apparentes contradictions entre intériorité et extériorité et aux discordances entre les informations visuelles et les informations sonores, l’article démontre que le décodage d’un dispositif énonciatif constitutif de l’objet ne peut rendre compte de la compréhension spectatorielle, et qu’une interprétation en termes cognitifs du processus de compréhension spectatorielle s’impose pour pallier les défauts d’une narratologie ontologique. La construction de l’auteur par le spectateur devient alors une hypothèse narratologique nécessaire, un auteur qui ne s’identifie pas forcément à une seule personne et relève de phénomènes qui excèdent le texte.

Abstract

Starting from an exploration of the apparent contradictions between inferiority and exteriority and the discordances between visual and auditory information, this article shows that decoding an enunciatory apparatus constitutive of an object cannot take into account spectator comprehension and that a cognitive interpretation of process of spectator comprehension is required to make up for the defects of an ontological narratology. The construction of the author by the spectator thus becomes a necessary narratological hypothesis: this is an author who is not necessarily identified with a single person and who originates in phenomena that lie beyond the text.
