Mise en scène et présentation de soi : la forme contemporaine du sujet individuel dans la pièce franco-manitobaine Les Allogènes

Résumé

Le projet théâtral Les Allogènes présenté à l’hiver 2018 par le Théâtre du Cercle Molière à Winnipeg est une initiative artistique qui donne la parole à des francophones manitobains venus d’ailleurs. L’intérêt sociologique principal sera de rendre compte de l’articulation entre les itinéraires personnels de ces francophones et la « quête identitaire » de la communauté franco-manitobaine, à partir des témoignages exprimés dans la pièce. Ces témoignages peuvent être définis comme de brèves « histoires de vie » où les intervenants donnent sens à leur périple géographique et, surtout, mettent l’accent sur certaines dimensions de leur cheminement. À terme, nous viserons à comprendre le rôle et l’importance de ces « acteurs » dans la construction d’un monde commun, celui de la communauté franco-manitobaine. Cette dernière est dorénavant une mosaïque caractérisée par le pluralisme culturel. Dans ce sens, la communauté franco-manitobaine est à l’image du Canada contemporain, elle en serait même un microcosme. Cette réalité nous interroge d’une manière toute particulière aujourd’hui : à l’ère de l’expression et de la valorisation de soi et de la subjectivité individuelle, comment saisir le « commun » dans ce que l’on nomme « communauté » ?

Abstract

The theatrical project Les Allogènes presented during the winter of 2018 by the Théâtre du Cercle Molière in Winnipeg is an artistic initiative that gives voice to Francophone Manitobans who come from elsewhere. The principle sociological interest will be to offer, based on comments expressed in the play, an account of the differences between the personal itineraries of these Francophones and the “quest for identity” of the Franco-Manitoban cultural community. These comments may be defined as brief “life histories” in which the participants give meaning to their geographic journey and, above all emphasize certain dimensions of their trajectories. The attempt will be made to understand the role and importance of these “actors” in the construction of a shared world, that of the Franco-Manitoban community. The latter is now a mosaic characterized by cultural pluralism. In this sense, the Franco-Manitoban community is a microcosm offering reflection on contemporary Canada. This reality is of particular interest at present: At a time of the expression and valorisation of the self and individual subjectivity, how to understand the “common” in that which is known as the “community?”
