Résumé
La généalogie d’une famille souche, Pelletier-Voisy, débarquée à Québec en 1636, illustre, pour ses huit enfants et leur proche descendance, la dynamique d’interaction entre colons et Autochtones, marquée par la porosité et la fluidité des frontières ethniques et sociales. L’identité n’y a rien à voir avec le sang, relevant de trajectoires individuelles et de modalités d’intégration aux réseaux de parenté. Émerge la figure du voyageur et sa grande proximité avec les Autochtones. Des nomades maintiennent la mobilité de leur mode de vie en devenant voyageurs tandis que les colons-voyageurs adoptent la mobilité en voyageant avec et parmi les Autochtones. Le contexte colonial vise cette fusion des peuples et leur subordination à la couronne et à l’Église catholique. La tradition orale innue y voit le processus de la conquête.

Abstract
The genealogy of a root family, Pelletier-Voisy, who landed in Quebec in 1636, illustrates for their eight children and their close descendants, the dynamic of interaction between settlers and Aboriginals, marked by the porosity and fluidity of ethnic and social boundaries. Identity has nothing to do with blood, pertaining rather to individual trajectories and modalities of integration into kinship networks. The figure of the voyageur emerges, as does his close proximity to the Aboriginals. Nomads maintain the mobility of their way of life by becoming travelers while settlers-voyageur embrace mobility by traveling with and among Indigenous people. The colonial context shows this fusion of peoples and their subordination to the Crown and to the Catholic Church. The Innu oral tradition sees it as the process of conquest.
