Pierre-Alain Sauvé rapporte d’abord les prévisions du Conference Board du Canada sur la persistance de hauts niveaux de chômage en moyenne période. Il y joint quelques considérations utiles sur le lien entre productivité et emploi et sur les différences entre la situation canadienne et la situation américaine.

ABSTRACT

Pierre-Alain Sauvé began by presenting the Conference Board of Canada's forecasts of continuing high unemployment rates in the medium term. He made some useful additional comments concerning the link between productivity and employment and the difference between the situation in Canada and that in the United States.
